These questions are heard daily in the media and are asked by an increasing number of our own patients. Some may be neglecting treatment due to fear, fear of a high risk dental environment.
Don't be afraid! Dental Associates does provide a safe environment for you.
Here's how:
- All instruments used are heat sterilized by autoclave (the single most effective method to destroy bacteria and viruses). Temperatures are monitored during each sterilizing cycle.
- Our autoclaves are checked monthly by Indiana University Testing Service to assure proper equipment function.
- We maintain a specially designed sterilization center supervised by a trained technician.
- We meet and exceed all A.D.A., Center for Disease Control, O.S.H.A., and E.P.A. recommendations for disease transmission and control.
- All disposable items, e.g., gauze, needles, bibs, are used once and discarded.
- All operatories are thoroughly disinfected between patients.
Know also that we are patients ourselves in our own office, by the same staff and Doctors who provide your treatment. We remain confident that our office is an exceptionally low risk environment.
